POWER OF GOD MINISTRIES HISTORY
The power of God ministries was founded April 30, 2000 and incorporated on July 19, 2000, by its current pastor Rev. Michael R. Stone, his beautiful wife Sharon Stone and several charter members. Pastor Stone, while serving as an associate minister and church administrator of the Harris Memorial Church of God in Christ; was inspired by the Holy Spirit to initiate a non-denominational, independent ministry that would open to serve people from all affiliations.
Pastor Stone, in drawing from over 3 decades of faithful service in his former church (Great Grandmother Church Mother, Grandfather Superintendent/Pastor and Mother National Vice President of Hospitality for the Church of God in Christ), has served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday school superintendent, teacher, youth leader, minister, Elder and ultimately Executive Administrator for the Board of Directors and has effectively instilled his experience and training into the successful operations of the current ministry.
The Power of God Ministries started their first services at the Courtland Marriott Hotel in the year 2000 (5 months), leasing the Fairhaven Seventh Day Adventist Church in Mt. Morris, MI (18 months), moved to the Beecher Community Nazarene Church where God Blessed them and enabled them to purchase the property on November 11, 2004. The Ministry has grown to a recorded membership of 265 as of December of 2007. Pastor Michael & Sharon Stone are the proud parents of 3 sons LaMarcus, Shawn and Galen.
